Announcements are planned to be communicated by Call-Em-All, by US Mail, by the pages on the church web site, and posted on the Face Book Group Page at Hallsville church of Christ Group.  We trust that at least one of these platforms will enable us to reach everyone.

    Elder’s Meeting Update: 6-29-2020

It seems that the Covid-19 virus numbers are just not going to settle down for any period of time. We have seen over the past few weeks that there is a decline in positive infections and then in a few days there is another increase in the infection rate. Harrison and Gregg counties have both experienced moderate increases in positive infections over the past two weeks.

In an effort to sustain some sort of consistency in our church services, and for the safety of the membership, the elders have come to the following conclusion to cover the next three months. Then we will re-evaluate.

We will continue to have Sunday morning worship service at the building for all who wish to participate. The conference call will be active at that time also. We will continue to post the video of the services on Facebook shortly after lunch each Sunday. Each Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we will have a Bible Study that will be posted on Facebook live and available live on the conference call line. Communion service will be offered at the end of the Sunday pm Bible study. There will be no worship services at the building on Sunday evenings. Our Wednesday evening Bible class will continue to be posted on Facebook live and on the conference call as we have been doing. There will be no Wednesday evening class in the building.

It is our prayer that this scheduling will enable us to maintain our worship and Bible studies in the most prudent and safest way possible for all.

6-28-2020. As announced to the congregation on the Friday notification call, Sunday AM Worship will be the only service held at the building this week. A sustained COVID-19 new case incidence rate increase trend, the time delay for symptoms to present themselves, and the state’s retreat on opening plans, all together warrant prudence in gatherings in the near term. The elders will be updating the service schedule week-by-week for the next few weeks and sharing those decisions through our various communication channels. Meanwhile, please continue in prayer and follow best practices for avoiding infection by the virus. Tommy, Joe H, Joe W

The May 31, Sunday AM, Worship Service at the building is only a partial recording. For a more complete recording, including the Lord’s Supper, the service is also available on the Conference Call Playback Line. We apologize that both recordings are incomplete; it will take us a few tries to get the new procedures right. (JW)

The 10:30 AM Worship Service will be held as planned at the building this Sunday, May 31. Gratefully, the Harrison County infection trend did not rebound since Texas re-opened. The Gregg County infection trend was not as reassuring. Consequently, the elders continue to be cautious about resuming our other assemblies. If conditions continue to stabilize in the next two weeks, Sunday PM worship will resume on June 14, Wednesday Night Bible Study on June 24, and Sunday Morning Bible Study on June 28.

As we assemble, please observe the safeguards in the brochure. The virus is still around. We would all be greatly saddened if our negligence contributed to infecting a dear brother or sister in Christ.

We understand that it will still not be prudent for some to assemble Sunday. Please know that you will be missed. The elders sympathize with your circumstances and respect the wisdom of your decision. Rest assured, we intend to continue to provide as best we can for everyone’s participation in the worship and Bible study; whether at the building or on-line.

Finally, our heart felt thanks is extended to everyone for their patience, understanding, and steadfast love of the Father, Jesus and His brethren. God bless and, if the Lord wills, we will see you on Sunday.

The conference call recording for Wednesday night’s Bible Study can be replayed. Because you may have received Lesson 7 after the class, we are providing three playback options on the conference call playback line. The playback phone number is 712-432-3903. When requested, enter our conference id number, 717387#. When asked for the sharing ID, enter one of the following numbers followed by the hash tag or pound key.

If you want to hear the answers to Lesson 6, enter 7245 #.

If you want to hear the scripture reading and the Lesson 7 hints, enter 7246 #.

If you want to hear just the Lesson 7 hints, enter 7258#.

We hope this helps you in your Bible study. We look forward to your participation in tomorrow night’s study.

When we return to assembly at the building (Sunday, May 31, Lord willing), our practices in the last two months will change again. Here is an update on plans and status:

In the near term, internet limitations prevent us from live broadcasting the worship assembly to Face Book. Video will be uploaded after the morning worship is concluded. If you would like to join us in real time, assembly at the building or the conference call line will be the only options.

The conference call service will be broadcast in real time. The call will also be recorded for later playback. Please expect there to be a learning curve as we return to real time conference call broadcasting.

At this time, the 10:30 AM Worship service will be the only service held at the building. We will continue the Wednesday Face Book and conference call formats as-is for the time being.

A brochure will be mailed with this week’s bulletin on changes in practices at the building for in-person assembly. If you do not receive a weekly bulletin, please request a copy by email to church@hallsvillechurch.org.

We will continue to update you as plans are adjusted.
